Update on the six million dollar dog (we can rebuild her…)

January 17, 2009 9:27 am

Amber had TPLO surgery this week to repair the partial CCL tear in what used to be her good knee. 2467

She and Arden are coping with the separation as well as can be expected. Amber is penned off in the living room to keep the two of them from playing with each other too much, but Arden still likes to offer Amber treats over the gate and bring her the occasional toy.

Arden keeps telling us the dog is hurt using the hurt sign and saying “oh no”.

She is very excited to see Amber in her pen when she comes downstairs in the morning just as Amber used to follow us into Arden’s bedroom in the mornings to get Arden from her crib.

Assuming there aren’t any complications with her recovery, Amber should be good as new in a few months. Cross your fingers!

That girl is a dancin’ fool!

OK, so the posts have been few and far between lately. We’re going to try to put up more updates soon, but for now, enjoy this clip of Arden showing off her best dance moves:

How Arden gets her groove on

Christmas 2008

December 30, 2008 9:15 am

Arden enjoyed Christmas this year at Nana Kim’s house. Her favorite gifts included a new Kettler tricycle from Grandma and Grandpa Galant and Elmo underwear from Santa.

In true toddler form, she got the house up at 5:45 am to start all the fun….

Halloween with the Brimber-bees

November 2, 2008 4:32 pm

There was just no way that Arden’s costume this year could live up to her sushi costume from last year, so instead we went with a family costume this year. In honor of the noble honey bees, many of which are mysteriously dying off, Penn was the beekeeper, Gilly wore a beehive, and Arden was our little bee! 2414

She enjoyed two Halloweens, one in downtown Walnut Creek with friends and another with family at Gilly’s Uncle Tom’s and Aunt Wendy’s annual Halloween Party.

Gilly and Arden’s homemade costumes got lots of attantion while Penn got overheated in his white tyvek suit. He thoroughly enjoyed his pith helmet, however (an amazingly hard to find item!).
