Gilly’s unsure about all this change and wonders where her baby has gone!

Be sure and give Flynn a firm hand shake next time you see him because before you know it, he’ll be heading off to college!

We decided to continue our Halloween tradition of having a family costume theme as long as Arden will allow it, so this year we dressed up as the classic children’s book, “The Very Hungry Caterpillar”. Flynn was the hungry caterpillar, Arden was the butterfly it turns into at the end of the book, Gilly was the fruit he eats, and Penn the junk food that gives him a tummy ache. Gilly made the costumes at home again this year and appeared to have hit a home run based on the smiles of recognition and positive feedback we received on Halloween night.

Arden got the hang of trick or treating pretty quickly, but not the idea of waiting to get home to eat the candy. We also attended the Boo at the Zoo event at the Oakland zoo which was a lot of fun for both the kids.

You can check out more photos in the October 2009 album of our photo gallery. Enjoy!

Gilly took the kids to meet the newest addition to our friend’s the Seaton’s family, a baby boy only a few months younger than Flynn. They recently moved to Tucson and are gretaly missed, but the girls and Flynn had a great time catching up. Arden and her best friend got right back into the groove as if they hadn’t been apart a day.

The trip included a trip to the Tuscon zoo and lots of play time in the sunny Arizona weather.

Gilly earned a new parenting merit badge for surviving the plane trips alone with two babes and Arden as overjoyed to see Penn waiting at the airport to pick them up.

We miss you Seatons!

This is our first year attempting container gardening. We planted one Early Girl tomato plant and a box of short carrots. Arden has been watering them religiously and we finally pulled a few the other day and to her utter surprise we had carrots!
Arden immediately tried to eat one, dirt and all.
